Private Tour + Open Studio—Glasner Studio
Saturday May 6th 2017, 1:00 pm–4:00 pm
Escape the daily grind and discover inspiration with this private experience of Edgar Miller‘s Glasner Studio.
The Glasner Studio (1928) is Edgar Miller’s masterpiece of art, design, and architecture, incorporating Miller’s woodwork, metalwork, mosaics, stained glass, and more. Part of a private enclave in Chicago’s Old Town, Glasner Studio is a brilliant amalgam of arts and crafts, art deco, and early modernist styles and building techniques.
The fully restored home is open to guests on a very limited basis, and ChiDM has secured a private viewing for attendees. This event will include a docent-led tour of the buidling followed by time to reflect and be inspired by the home itself. Bring your camera, computer, penciles, sketchbooks, etc. to record your inspiration, and then share in a group discussion at the end of the event.
Your ticket includes a tour of the home and paper provided by Resketch to capture your thoughts. Coffee and tea will also be served.
Due to the exclusive nature of the reservation, no refunds or cancellations can be processed. Unfortunately, Glasner Studio, a private home built in 1928, is inaccessible to those with mobility impairments. We apologize for this inconvenience — Edgar Miller Legacy is in the process of developing a virtual tour of the home.
